Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Release

Recall Notification

Valued Precor Customers and Partners,

Precor is contacting all valued customers and partners to inform you that Precor is initiating a voluntary recall to repair RMS905 Multi-Station Units that were manufactured before October 3, 2024. The recall is being done in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The RMS905 features an adjustable pulley assembly, the height of which can be adjusted along a vertical rail by engaging a pop-pin in the rail’s pre-drilled holes. If the pop-pin is not fully engaged in the vertical rail, the adjustable pulley assembly can drop during use, posing a hazard to users. Precor has received nine reports of incidents involving the adjustable pulley assembly dropping during use, including two incidents resulting in minor injuries.

As part of this voluntary recall, Precor is reaching out to offer a product improvement for the RMS905, free of charge. Precor’s authorized independent servicers or direct service teams will be:

  • Inspecting RMS905 units to confirm they have necessary warning labels on the carriage pulley explaining the importance of ensuring the pop-pin is engaged prior to use, and
  • Performing the recall repair, which consists of installing an improved pop-pin on RMS905 units. The improved pop-pin is more robust and will help to ensure the adjustable pulley assembly’s engagement with the vertical rail.

You do not need to take any action. Precor’s authorized servicers will contact you to schedule service at a convenient time. The service visit will require no more than 30 minutes per unit, and units can immediately be returned to use.

If you have any questions regarding this product improvement program, please contact Precor Customer Support at support@precor.com or 800-347-4404.

Thank you for your continued partnership.
